Cornish Gig Pilot Association
Powering a New Season of Pilot Gig Rowing with TracTrac Club
TracTracUK is incredibly proud to be working with the Cornish Gig Pilot Association (CGPA) as they embrace TracTrac Club, our subscription-based tracking solution designed to give clubs and associations complete freedom over how, when, and how often they track racing.
Through TracTrac Club, the CGPA has invested in their own fleet of TracTrac GPS units, allowing them to track as many pilot gig races as they wish throughout the season, without the need to book individual events. This flexible, cost-effective approach puts the technology directly in the hands of the rowing community — empowering organisers, rowers, and fans alike.
Showing How Races Are Really Won
Pilot gig racing is famously close, tactical, and fiercely competitive. With TracTrac tracking, the CGPA will be able to visually show how races — and rowing braces — are won. From the explosive starts to tactical positioning and decisive final pushes, the data and replay tools give a whole new layer of insight into each race.
For rowers and clubs, this means better post-race analysis and learning. For supporters, it means a clearer, more engaging understanding of what unfolds on the water.
Live Tracking for the Gig Rowing Community
The tracking won’t stop at race analysis. The CGPA will also be using TracTrac to provide a live tracking feed for the Gig Rower YouTube Channel, helping bring pilot gig racing to a wider audience than ever before.
Live GPS tracking allows viewers to follow races in real time, wherever they are — making events more accessible, more engaging, and easier to share across the growing digital gig rowing community.
A Growing Sport, A Growing Community
Pilot gig rowing continues to go from strength to strength. With a growing number of gig rowing clubs, increasing participation, and a passionate supporter base, the community around the sport has never been stronger.
One of the highlights of the calendar, the Pilot Gig World Championships, perfectly captures this momentum — with over 100 gigs racing in the Isles of Scilly, it’s one of the most spectacular and competitive rowing events anywhere in the world.
Looking Ahead to an Exciting Season
At TracTracUK, we’re genuinely excited to be part of this journey. Supporting the Cornish Gig Pilot Association through TracTrac Club is exactly what the service was designed for: giving committed communities the tools they need to enhance racing, storytelling, and engagement on their own terms.
As the new season gets underway, we can’t wait to see the data, the battles on the water, and the stories that emerge — from local club racing right through to the World Championships in the Isles of Scilly.
